Today Concord Pacific unveiled its newest neighbourhood "False Creek Central". Situated at the Cambie Gateway to Downtown Vancouver, it will connect Marinaside, Coopers’ Park and Yaletown neighbourhoods to Vancouver’s Sports and Entertainment District. The neighbourhood, along with Vancouver’sUrban Resort by Paragon/VOX 360, is an investment worth over a billion dollars. Concord’s new neighbourhood will be comprised of 8 buildings, 90,000 square feet of commercial,retail and services and more than 1300 homes. A new pedestrian and bicycle route will connect downtown Vancouver to the seawall and the Cambie Street Bridge. Vancouver’sUrban Resort will be comprised of two four and five star hotels, convention facilities,restaurants,retail, a spa and entertainment.
"We are pleased to introduce yet another neighbourhood to Concord Pacific Place Master-Planned Community ," Concord Pacific’s Senior Vice-President of Development Peter Webb remarked. "False Creek Central is the latest addition to the community and will provide significant services and a variety of housing options for Vancouverites." Planned for Concord’s 90,000 square feet of amenities will be a 30,000 square foot public fitness and wellness club, expansive restaurant and lounge, cafés, an urban market, pharmacy,financial services, boutique retail and a number of other day to day services. The most significant portion of retail will be realized early in the One Pacific development going to market this month.
Through development and construction of the neighbourhood, there will be 1500 jobs generated. The neighbourhood will employ over 2000 people at completion. "The economic impact and spin off benefits of this community will be huge, " explained Gary Jobin of Blade Runner’s. "Part of the mix of workers employed will be disadvantaged ‘street-involved’ youth. As with past Concord developments, it will give the man opportunity to enter into the workforce and learn skills that will send them in a positive life direction. "
Dennis Skulsky, BC Lions President communicated, "The False Creek Central neighbourhood will be good for BC Place, The BC Lions and the local Community. So many people embrace the sports and entertainment lifestyle and this gives them more options. This new neighborhood will go a long way to dispel the "No Fun" Vancouver myth. We are happy to see Concord and Paragon/360 VOX provide such a well thought out neighbourhood to Downtown Vancouver."
Concord Pacific’sfirst development in the neigbourhood will be One Pacific. It will be comprised of over 400 homes and will house approximately half of the commercial space for the neighbourhood. It will be released this month. Vancouver’sUrban Resort is estimated to be complete at the end of 2016.
