How Do I Find Out What a Home Sold For in BC?
Enter the address in the form above and I will look it up in the MLS® system and send you the sold price. You can also check REALTOR.ca, which shows final sale prices for Greater Vancouver REALTORS® listings once a sale has completed and the keys have changed hands, and BC Assessment, which lists assessed values and sales. A REALTOR® can also show you the sales around it, so you can see what the price actually means.

- What you get: the sold price, plus context such as the list price and nearby sales on request.
Why Sold Prices Matter
- Buying: what similar homes actually sold for is the best guide to what to offer. Asking prices only show what sellers hope to get.
- Selling: recent sold prices on your street or in your building show where your home is likely to land. Request a free home evaluation for a full pricing review.
- Owning: checking sales near you is a simple way to keep track of what your home is worth between assessments.
Sold Price vs. List Price vs. Assessed Value
| What it is | How useful it is | |
|---|---|---|
| Sold price | What a buyer actually paid | The best evidence of market value |
| List price | What the seller asked for | A starting point only. Homes can sell above or below it. |
| Assessed value | BC Assessment's estimate for property tax | Reflects the market on July 1 of the year before, so it can be out of date |

Frequently Asked Questions
Are sold prices public in BC?
Yes, increasingly. Since April 2025, REALTOR.ca shows the final sale price of Greater Vancouver REALTORS® listings once the sale has completed. Before completion, the price is generally only available to REALTORS® through the MLS® system.
How soon after a sale can I find out the price?
On public websites, usually not until the sale completes, which can be weeks or months after the deal is firm. Ask me and I can check the MLS® system for the most recent information available.
Is the assessed value what the home sold for?
No. The assessed value is BC Assessment's estimate of market value as of July 1 of the previous year, used for property tax. A home can sell well above or below it.
Can you tell me what homes on my street or in my building sold for?
Yes. Enter your address and mention it in your request, or get in touch, and I can put together the recent sales near you.
Why is the sold price different from the asking price?
Asking prices are set by sellers and their agents. The sold price depends on how many buyers wanted the home, its condition and how the market moved while it was listed.
